Lifestyles of the poor and nameless

If you have nothing nice to say....

Don't you just hate when people can't take a hint? Many moons ago I started talking to a guy online...he was a newly admitted attorney, so I was doing the networking thing. He kinda got my interest, but he was being all weird about us actually speaking, so I left it alone. We spoke off and on for a little while ---and since I have this thing about not dating attorneys--- it was never beyond a professional level.

About 2 months ago, he asked to see my picture, so I sent it to him. He sent me his...I wasn't particularly feeling it, so I said something like "hmm...wouldn't have imagined that you had locks", thinking that this would divert his attention.

Last night he was on IM and the following conversation occurred:

TRUUTH: how are the fellas treatin u
Panhandler: hmmm....I am/was seeing someone in PA. Things are weird, but I am single for all intents and purposes
TRUUTH: i see, do u have any new pics?
Panhandler: not since the ones I sent you
TRUUTH: ok
TRUUTH: whatd u think of mine
Panhandler: it was cool....we spoke about it before....I think I said something about your hair
TRUUTH: i think all you told me was that you didnt expect locks. what does 'it was cool' mean. does that mean you thought it was well taken, or the background was breath-taking?
TRUUTH: or was it too plain?
Panhandler: There wasn't a background if I recall
TRUUTH: ok, tell me more...
Panhandler: there isn't more to tell
TRUUTH: what does cool mean?
Panhandler: cool, aight, OK... same thing
TRUUTH: ok, when I saw yours, i told you that i thought you were very cute. thats what i thought about your pics. what did you think of mine?
Panhandler: I thought you were OK
TRUUTH: ok counselor, i'll leave you alone...we've been getting alot of rain lately
Panhandler: indeed we have

It's not that he's particularly bad-looking. He just wasn't appealing to me. Maybe it was that particular photo....all I know is, I wasn't feeling him. Isn't the saying "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Should I have just said "actually, I thought your picture sucked?!"

Blogger Dee's two cents:

don't you think it was kinda creepy he was wanting another picture of you? Isn't one enough?

Blogger Inside Man's two cents:

He can see clearly now if he reads your blog.

Blogger Queen Bee's two cents:

ha ha....the names have been changed to protect the guilty parties. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I don't pry people about things like that. I go by the rule that if they like the photo(s), they'll say so. If they say nothing, they weren't feeling the pictures, but they're too polite to say so....Guess he missed the memo.

Blogger Ananse's Web's two cents:

HAHAHHAHA I would have asked him for a different pic to draw a clear and concise view...I would have told him it sucked I mean its not like he knows where you live. BLOCK HIM
