Movie Madness

I saw Ray today. That was a great movie. It was a little on the long side though. I also would have liked to see more about his life during the time when he was out of the entertainment spotlight ('80s-2000) but all in all, it was well-done. I've been pretty skeptical of Jamie Foxx as a serious actor up until this point. I couldn't stop seeing him in his sitcom roles or "Booty Call". (No, I didn't see Collateral....I might check it out though).

I also saw SAW courtesy of bootleg theater. That was one sick movie. It was excellent! I might actually go see it at the theater to get the full effect (not by myself though).

I tried to watch Dawn of the Dead, but either I'd had my fill of movies for one day, or it just sucked. I couldn't get into it. I would love to see the Bridget Jones sequel. I thought the first one was hilarious. Sit Up Britain ;-).

Blogger Dee's two cents:

thanks for the reviews. I think I might see saw after all. Definitely will see Ray unless it can't be helped. I wonder if they picked the title of Saw with a smirk on their faces. One can't help but think of the playground fixture.

Blogger Dee's two cents:

I don't know why I posted twice. I tried to delete the duplication. hope it worked. Anyway--you definitely SHOULD see collateral. Very interesting grainy texture to it. Thoughtful attention to detail and action is realistically portrayed. You don't come away from that movie saying "I think I'd like to become a hit woman". You come away saying, "I don't want to crawl on the floor or lose my ear".

Blogger The Coach's two cents:

I've never been a scary movie type of person, but I will see SAW on your recommendation.
